A Letter to Our Guests
We’re SO excited to have you on board for our wedding; we couldn’t get married without you there. With our spirit of adventure in mind, we’re headed to Italy - the destination of Jason’s first trip abroad 11 years ago and the place Michael has always wanted to visit more than any other.
The base for our four-day event is Hotel Villa Cheta in Maratea, Italy. Here, we will hold our wedding festivities and accommodate our guests. The hotel features an on-site restaurant and 22 rooms with four different room types, which are reserved for our exclusive use. Please find more information on Hotel Villa Cheta and details about your room below.
Check-in will begin at 2pm on September 12th and check out will be at 11am on September 16. The wedding ceremony and reception will be held on September 14 at Villa Cheta. In addition to our planned activities, there will be free time to visit the nearby towns or hang out by the hotel pool.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jason (219.246.6228) or Michael (630.362.9518).
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
The Italian government recently removed all restrictions with regard to entering Italy and COVID-19.
As of July 6, 2022, vaccinations, boosters, quarantines, recovery certificates, and negative tests are not required to enter or navigate throughout Italy.
You will likely be required to wear an N-95 or KN-95 mask when entering public transportation or local businesses. Please make sure you travel with one at all times.
The Government of Italy periodically updates these restrictions based upon changing conditions, and all travelers should refer to current Italian health decrees when making travel plans. As always, we will keep an eye on restrictions and let you know of any changes as soon as we are aware.
Though you should not run into any issues, we do recommend you travel with your CDC “white card” proving your vaccination against COVID-19 in case any private businesses should require them for you to enter.
Out of an abundance of caution, we would appreciate if everyone could travel with at-home COVID-19 tests in case you begin showing any symptoms of COVID-19. We want everyone to stay safe and healthy during our trip!

HOTEL VILLA CHETA
Hotel Villa Cheta is a quiet and intimate boutique hotel that boasts 22 rooms and is situated atop the beautiful Gulf of Policastro. It is a truly romantic villa that was built centuries ago by the owner’s family, whose famous hospitality made the villa a luxurious hideaway where noble families spent their vacations. They offered their guests delicious dishes with selected wines of the region. Cherishing the local tradition, Villa Cheta has been lovingly transformed into a charming small hotel, keeping the family-villa atmosphere. It still has the art nouveau era glass panels and lamps. Bedrooms are individually decorated using family antique furniture. The halls and lounge are prettily set with lace table cloths and chintz sofas.
The outstanding restaurant offers fish specialties with the emphasis on traditional regional cooking. Most days, the climate is so pleasant that breakfast and dinners are served on the terraces, where the sea can be glimpsed through the garden’s flowers and trees.
The Hotel has a splendid background of Mediterranean pined mountains, and overlooks a shimmering and crystal clear sea. Guests enjoy the beach directly below.

Wine Tasting: Smart casual attire
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Normal wedding attire is encouraged, but please keep in mind it will likely be a warm, late-summer day; make sure to wear something you will be comfortable in! Activities on Thursday: Casual, unique to the selected activity
Immediately following the wedding, we will begin our honeymoon throughout Italy and Greece. In order to avoid us (or you!) having to travel with an excess of cash or other miscellaneous gifts, we kindly ask that those who wish to give us a wedding gift do so by donating to Our Newlywed Fund - a fund for everything (our honeymoon, home improvements, the next time Coco decides to eat kitty litter and we have to take him to the ER, you name it)!
Live Stream
For those not joining us in Italy, we will be live streaming the wedding ceremony starting at 9am CST on Wednesday, September 14.
