A New Week

I had my first Maori Art and Design class on Friday. It was really interesting! We learned about the different types of basic designs and also the structure of their meeting houses and some of the Maori language. There is a large group of internationals in there, which is great.

Friday night, Meg, Karin, and I bought supplies to make White Russians and hung out in Karin’s room with Kate, Kristine, her boyfriend, and their friend Georgia.

Saturday, I went to the beach with Karin, Carolin, and Kate. We laid there for prolly two hours, after searching for an international market that seemingly didn’t exist. Later, we reassembled for more White Russians (I had 3 and 2 bottles of cider) and then went to Bru with a bigger group. I proceeded to drink another 5 pints of beer throughout the night. We attempted to go to Boogie Wonderland, but were told to leave when the bouncer thought I was giving him attitude (typical). It was just Martha, William, and I at this point and we ended up at somewhere really crowded where I found 3 of my flatties, chugged a pint of Guinness, and left. We ended the night with Burgerfuel (the best drunk food).

Sunday, I got dinner and milkshakes with Sharyn, Emily, and Greer.

Yesterday was considerably nice early in the day compared to recent weather. I decided to seize the opportunity and go for a run along the waterfront. This took a turn for the worst when I was on the opposite side of Mount Victoria, roughly 3 miles from home, and we got a cold front and it started pouring. I froze my ass off running/walking back.

Once back, I took a shower and warmed up. The rain stopped, so my flatties and I went for groceries for dinner, only to get rained on again. I decided to get two bottles of wine and drink a whole one to myself later in the night with Carolin while we watched Closer and Garden State.

Today, I had class, booked my Easter break trip to the South Island, and did Taco Tuesday with VUWTC.

Report back soon.
